Abstract

Introduction: Preeclampsia and diabetes in pregnancyaffectthehealth of thepregnantwoman, thefetus and thenewborn.
Objective: To describe the maternal and perinatal outcomes in diabeticpregnantwomenwith preeclampsia.
Method: A descriptive, cross-sectionaldevelopmentalresearchwascarriedout; Thestudypopulationwasmade up of alldiabeticpregnantwomenwith preeclampsia treated, for a total of 43 patients at the “Mariana Grajales” Gynecological-ObstetricUniversity Hospital in theperiodJanuary 2019 to December 2021. Variables such as type of diabetes, control wereused. glycemic, treatment, maternal and perinatal morbidities.
Results: therewas a predominance of gestational diabetes and goodmetabolic control in alltypes of diabetes. Vaginal dischargesyndromewasthemainmorbidityassociatedwithpatientswithgoodmetabolic control, in bothtypes of diabetes. Greaterdevelopment of late preeclampsia wasobtained, whichdidnotdevelopsigns of worsening, themain perinatal complicationfoundwasintrauterinegrowthrestriction.
Conclusions: Gestational diabetes predominatedwithgoodmetabolic control, achieving a full-termpregnancyassociatedwith late preeclampsia withoutsigns of worsening. Themajority of pregnantwomenpresentedassociatedmorbidities, vaginal dischargesyndrome and pretermdeliverybeingthemostcommon. Intrauterinegrowthrestrictionwasthe perinatal complicationwiththehighestincidence.
