Introduction: The transposition of the great congenitally corrected arteries or also known as the L-Transposition of the great arteries, is a rare pathology that appears in less than 1 % of patients with congenital heart disease.
Objective: To exhibit treatment results during the course of a pregnancy.
Case report: We report the case of a 26 -year -old pregnant woman with a diagnosis of transposition of large congenitally corrected arteries, accompanied by interventricular communication, pulmonary stenosis (valvular and subvalvular) and poor heart position (mesocardia). Complementary studies were indicated, such as trans-critical and transesophageal echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance and transpercutaneous pulmonary valvuloplasty during pregnancy. There were no significant complications during the interventionist procedure and it was possible to reach the end of pregnancy.
Cesarean section was the delivery path used and satisfactory result was obtained for the mother and the newborn.
Conclusions: The work of an experienced multidisciplinary team made it possible to carry the pregnancy to term. Transpercutaneous pulmonary valvuloplasty performed at 21 weeks gestation allowed to obtain good maternal and perinatal results.
