Abstract

Throughout the world, gender equity is an issue of growing acceptance, however, there
are still remnants of oppressive behaviors and beliefs that differentiate men from women, situations that often go unnoticed and which have been unconsciously integrated into daily life, such as micro-machismos and gender stereotypes. This reflection focuses on
how these expressions, behaviors and ideologies stablished in society have deleterious impacts on the sexual and reproductive health of men. It is concluded that it is everyone's role to break stereotypes and raise awareness, while seeking the active participation of
men and women in processes of promotion, prevention and treatment of possible alterations in their sexual and reproductive health.
