"The Ring of Fire", a Little-Known Symptom of the Expulsive Period

Aspects related to pregnancy and childbirth are of great importance, not only for the specialists who care for these women, but also for pregnant women themselves. At delivery, in addition to pain, cramps and contractions, another symptom is present which not all can identify. I refer to "the ring of fire", a unique sensation and only appears on that occasion. It is a burning or stinging sensation throughout the perineum circumference, when dilating with the baby's head crowning.
